Genitalia

Male genitalia: valva slender with weakly expressed neck; cucullus elongate; aedeagus convex beyond middle, ventrally.

Caterpillar

Translucent white body with a dark brown head, prothoracic plate yellowish brown, dark markings, anal plate spotted, pinacula conspicuous, brownish.

Cocoon/pupa

Bionomics

The larva lives in the galls induced by hymenopterous insects like the oak fungus gall wasp (Biorhiza pallida), perhaps also in other galls on oak trees. The larve hibernates in a cocoon, either within the gall or behind bark.
The adults come to light and to pheromones.

Flight periods

The moths have been seen from early April towards late June, but occasionally as late as mid-September, probably specimens of a second partial generation.
