A not so common but widespread species in Belgium. Many errors happen with identification with fresh Scoparia ambigualis, Scoparia basistrigalis and Scoparia subfusca.
Native
The larva lives in a slight web. The adults are active at dusk.
The adults have been observed from early May till early August, but mainly during June.
The larva feeds on decaying vegetable matter of various low-growing plants. It probably lives also on the roots of Senecio jacobaea and other plants as Plantago lancealata.
