Native
Wingspan 6–7 mm.
Larvae can be found from September to May. Yellowish abdomen with a brown head.
Larcae mine from September to May.
The larva mines in the epidermis of thinner stems, shoots, and spines on the host plant, usually near the base of the bush. It prefers less vigorous bushes with thinner stems—pupation in the mines. As the mines age, a purplish bruising appears. The adult moths fly frequently around the food plant by day and later come to light.
Adults are on the wing from June to July.
The larva feeds on various species of Ulex, including Ulex europaeus, Ulex parviflorus, and Ulex minor.
It inhabits heathland, moorland, grasslands, and areas where the host plants grow.
