First observation for Belgium in 2018 in OV. Hitherto, it is still very rare and local.
Native
The larva makes a long and narrow gallery on the underside of the outermost leaves.
The adults become active from sunset onwards and fly freely over the host plants, later they come to light.
The adults fly from late June towards late July.
The larva feeds mainly on Carex riparia, but is also observed on Carex rostrata and rarely on Carex acutiformis.
It inhabits areas temporarily flooded in marshes and fens.
