A very rare and local species in Belgium. Perhaps overlooked due to its late flight period.
Hitherto known only from 3 localities in Belgium.
Native
The eggs are probably laid on deciduous trees and overwinters, in spring the caterpillar can then move to herbaceous plants. The larva lives between spun leaves.
Males come to light.
Adults fly from early November till early December, with a peak in the second half of November.
The polyphagous larva feeds on many plants of more than 20 families like Anthriscus, Berberis, Calluna, Chaerophyllum, Crataegus, Erica, Fragaria, Ligustrum, Malus, Myrica, Prunus spinosa, Quercus, Rhamnus cathartica, Ribes, Rosa, Rubus, Salix, Syringa, Ulmus and Vaccinium.
It inhabits hedgerows and open places in woodland.
