A very rare species in Belgium, nowadays only confined to the southern provinces.
Native
Hibernates as pupa in a cocoon in loose sand.
The moths come to light.
The adults fly from mid-May towards mid-September with a peak during June/July.
The caterpillar lives according to literature on Stellaria species, especially Stellaria holostea.
It inhabits open woods, also coniferous woods.
