A very rare species in Belgium, not recorded since a long time. Probably extinct.
Native
Yellowish white body with a brownish dorsal and subdorsal length lines.
The larvae feed initially under the bark, but soon penetrating the pith of the stems up to the rhizome. Pupation in the roots or outside in a flimsy white cocoon.
They rest among the foliage during the day, and later come to light.
The adults are on the wing from late June towards mid-September.
The monophagous larva lives on Artemisia absinthium.
It inhabits dry pastures and waste ground.
