Bionomics

The larvae live in the flower heads and later pupate in a cocoon on the ground.
The adults come sparsely to light.


Flight periods

The adults have been seen from early May towards mid-June.

Picris hieracioides and Crepis biennis

The larva lives on Picris and Crepis.


Habitat

It inhabits open fields, uncultivated ground, wasteland and herb-rich grasslands.
