A fairly common species in the northern part of Belgium, elsewhere a rare species.
This species is considered Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List category for Flanders 2023.
Native
Hibernates as a pupa.
The adults come to light.
The adults fly from early June till late August in one generation a year.
The larva lives on Quercus, occasionally on Fagus.
