A fairly common species throughout Belgium, observed mainly in the central and northern areas in the country.
Native
The larvae live between spun leaves or spinning together terminal shoots of the food plant. The larvae have a dense white silken spinning on terminal shoots. Pupation in a loose cocoon on a twig of the food plant.
The adults fly at night, sometimes also during the day and later come to light.
The adults usually fly from mid-May towards late August. Most observations during July.
The larva lives on Lonicera xylosteum, other Lonicera species and on Symphoricarpus albus
It occurs in woodland, heathland, scrub, gardens, parks and fens.
