Wingspan 11-15 mm. It has a grey general appearance and prominent, contrasting greyish white ocellar patch.

Bionomics

The larva lives within a spun or rolled leaf, overwintering as a small larva. The adults come to light.

Flight periods

They fly in two generations from early April till late September. Most observations during May and July.

Crataegus, Betula, Malus, Pyrus and Cotoneaster

The larva feeds on Betula ,Cotoneaster, Pyrus communis, Malus domestica, Crataegus, Prunus domestica and Prunus spinosa. Perhaps also on Populus tremula.
