Imago

Wingspan 12–18 mm. It has a pale to dark costal patch, the dorsal edge runs from the wing base to the apex with a double waved shape. The section above the tornus is concave and runs to the termen. This section is straight in Ancylis diminutana and runs to the apex.

Bionomics

The larva lives between spun leaves and hibernates. The adults come to light.

Flight periods

The adults are on the wing from May till early July, sometimes till August in an extended emergence period.

Host plant (genera):
Salix

The larva lives on different Salix species like S. aurita and S. cinerea. Probably also on S. caprae ans S. repens.
