Bionomics

The larva lives in a slight web on the top shoots, preferring the flowers of the food plant. Pupation in an earthen cocoon, rarely in the feeding place.
it tends to rest well-camouflaged amongst the low moorland plants and does not fly readily. The adults hibernate.
The adults fly in sunny afternoons and later they come to light.

They have been observed from September and after hibernation again till late May.
