This rare and widespread species has not been seen in Belgium for a long time. More than likely extinct.
Some forms can be confused with different Euxoa species.
Native
The larva hibernates.
The adults fly from June until September. They seem to undergo a dormancy in mid-summer.
The larva is polyphagous on herbs and probably also grasses of the sandy habitats.
It inhabits sandy grasslands and dunes.
