Caterpillar

The reddish-brown caterpillar has a black head and black prolegs. The prothoracic plate is yellowish with black edges.

Bionomics

The caterpillar starts mining the needles from a spinning tube on the branch. Later the caterpillar lives freely between spun leaves. The adults come to light.
