A not so common species throughout Belgium.

The reddish-brown caterpillar has a black head and black prolegs. The prothoracic plate is yellowish with black edges.
The caterpillar starts mining the needles from a spinning tube on the branch. Later the caterpillar lives freely between spun leaves. The adults come to light.
The adults have been observed from late April towards mid-July.
The larva lives on Picea.
