Bionomics

The larva lives at first on the spun flowers or immature berries, later inside a leaf spun to a stem, feeding on that stem. It hibernates full-fed in a cocoon in the earth. Pupation in this cocoon.
During the day it relies on camouflage, taking on the appearance of a bird-dropping. The adults are active at dusk and regularly come to light.
