Distribution

Imago

Wingspan 18–21 mm. Notocelia roborana is the largest of the other 2 very similar looking Notocelia species being Notocelia rosaecolana and Notocelia trimaculana.
It has a smaller basal patch with the outer edge sharply defined and parallel with the termen. Further 3 broad and 4 narrow costal strigulae between the apical spot and distal end of costal fold which intersects the costa at one half.
The pre-tornal spot and median fascia are usually less well developed, giving a relatively uninterrupted patch of white ground colour between the basal patch and subterminal fascia.
