A rare and local species in Belgium, more observed in the Kempen.
This species is considered Vulnerable according to the IUCN Red List category for Flanders 2023.
Native
Hibernates as a small larva and pupates in an underground cocoon.
The adults come to light and sugar.
The adults fly from early June to late July in one generation a year. Exceptional some individuals can be seen sometimes as late as October.
The larva lives on a several species of Gramineae, especially on Dactylis glomerata, Poa nemoralis or Luzula.
