First observation for Belgium was in 2010 in Erps-Kwerps (VB). Hitherto a very rare and local species, not often recorded.

Caterpillar

Whitish body with black warts, the head, nape and anal shield are black, blackisk brown feet. The penultimate segment has a black dot on the rear edge.

The larva lives in the shoots that are twisted into balls.
The adults come to light.
