A not-so-common species throughout Belgium, more observed in the Kempen and in the southern part of the country.
This species is considered Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List category for Flanders 2023.
Native
Hibernates as larva and pupates in a cocoon among plant debris.
The adults are active at dusk and during the night. They come to light and sugar.
The adults fly in two generations a year from June till well into October.
The larva lives on fallen leaves.
