It occurs from North Africa across Southern Europe far into Asia. The northernmost populations in Central Europe are located in the inner-alpine dry valleys.

1 specimen at Oorderen, Antwerpen Noord (AN), 2007-05-30, leg. W. Van Ginhoven. Since the species was found in a large train station, it is very likely that this species travelled by train.


Observed on

The larvae feed on old, dead parts of plants, mosses, lichens, algae and soft and fresh plants.
