The first mines are found early, onwards from the end of May.
One of the few Nepticulidae that hibernates as an adult, usually behind hanging bark (often found behind the bark of Platanus x hispanica).
The adults fly at least two generations a year.
The larvae mines mainly Betula pendula, but Betula pubescens is also used.
Mainly dry forest, usually on sandy grounds, with low birches and storage in the undergrowth.
