Bionomics

The larva lives in a silken tube in mos.
The adults fly in early morning and around dusk and later come sparsely to light.

The adults have been seen from mid-June towards mid-August.

The larvae have been found on different mosses like Rhytidiadelphus squarrosus, Aulacomnium palustre and Hypnum jutlandicum. Also accidentally bred from Sphagnum sp.

It inhabits damp and wet moorland, peat bogs and spring areas along streams.
