A very rare species in Belgium, hitherto known only from one confirmed observation at the coast in 2005.
Native
On Equisetum, the larva lives in webs among roots. On Salix repens, the larva lives in spun tubes in the sand under the host plant from where it skeletonizes the underside of the lower leaves.
The adults become active around sunset and later comes to light.
Adults are on the wing from mid-May towards August.
The larva feed on Salix repens and on Equisetum, either on E. palustre or E. arvense (conflicting data in literature).
It inhabits sand dunes and sandy beaches.
