A rather common species in most areas of Belgium.
Native
Wingspan 23–27 mm.
Hind legs ringed, grey-brown, and dark brown.

The larvae hibernate in the roots of the food plant. In spring it mines a young shoot.
Pupation on the stem of the food plant.
The moths are active at dusk and come to light.
The adults fly from mid-June till early September.
The larva lives in the stem of Tanacetum vulgare.
