A fairly common species throughout Belgium.
This species is considered Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List category for Flanders 2023.
Native
Hibernates as a pupa in a solid cocoon attached to the bark of the food plant. The adults come to light.
The adults fly in two generations a year from late April towards June and again in August.
The larva lives on Salix, Populus tremula and on other Populus species.
