A very rare and local species in the south of Belgium. Seldom recorded.
Native
The imago flies actively in bright sunshine and does not come to light.
The adults fly in two generations a year onwards; mainly in May and again during late July-early August.
The larvae live mainly on different species of Genista. Also reported on Cytisus and Laburnum, but this is quite exceptional. In older literature is Ononis mentioned, but this is questionable, although this plant is present in good numbers with a lot of Genista pilosa in Belgium where the hotspot is for this species.
It inhabits poor grasslands and sparse pine forests with large stands of Genista.
