A rather common species throughout Belgium.
This species is considered Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List category for Flanders 2023.
Native
It hibernates as pupa among plant debris.
They are active from dusk onwards and later come to light.
The adults fly in two difficult to separate generations a year from late March till late September.
The larva lives on the flowers of various herbaceous plants.
