A rather common species throughout Belgium, more observed in the northern part.
This species is considered Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List category for Flanders 2023.

The adults fly in two generations a year from June till late September.
Hibernates as egg on the food plant. The larva lives mainly on Salix, but also on Alnus, Populus or Prunus spinosa.
The adults come to light.
