A rather common species throughout Belgium.
This species is considered Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List category for Flanders 2023.
Native
Hibernates as a small larva and pupates among plant debris or in a crevice.
The adults come to light.
The adults fly from mid-June to August in one generation a year.
The larva feeds on lichens, but also accepts mosses and the leaves of herbaceous plants.
