First observation for Belgium in 2016 (NA). Hitherto a very rare and very local species in the Calestienne and Gaume region.
Native
Wingspan 18–26 mm. It is very similar in outward appearance to D. dilutella although apparently it is more variable and is described as being browner and tends to lack the white sub-basal fascia but determination by genitalia examination (gen. det.) is required to confirm identification.
The adults come to light.
The adults are on the wing from June towards late August.
The larvae feed on Thymus.
It inhabits calcareous soils.
