Populations have declined because of the Dutch elm disease.
This species is considered Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List category for Flanders 2023.

The adults come to light and sugar.
The adults fly from late June till September in one generation.
The larva lives on Ulmus procera and Ulmus glabra.
