Wingspan 13–17 mm. A brightly attractive coloured moth with golden-yellow forewings with metallic blue markings.

Bionomics

The larva lives in the roots and stems on the ffod plant. The species hibernates as a larva. The adults come to light.


Flight periods

The adults fly in one generation a year, onwards from late May towards late June.


Observed on

Host plant (species):
Senecio jacobaea and Jacobaea erucifolia

The larva lives mainly on Senecio jacobaea, also on S. paludosus, Picris hieracioides and Jacobaea erucifolia.
