A rare and local species in Belgium.

The wingspan: 10–13.
The forewings are dark ochreous till brown. There is a distinct white line on the costa till 2/3.
The antennae are alternately ringed till 1/2 from the tip.
The caterpillar lives in a small silken case of about 5–6 mm.

The larvae eat the seeds of the food plant. They overwinter and pupate in the case.
The adults are on the wing from the end of May till the beginning of September.
