Genitalia

Male: sacculus of medium lenght, drooping strongly, aedeagus strongly curved.
Female: sterigma broad and rounded proximally, colliculum rather short, weakly bent with inner sclerite.


Flight periods

They are on the wing in June and July.

Polyphagous

This species is a pests and of certain economical importance on wheat (Triticum), barley (Hordeum), rye (Secale) and oat (Avena). Other host plants also include Aster, Anthemis, Achillea, Artemisia, Centaurea, Chrysanthemum, Circium, Colchicum, Erigeron, Echium, Hyochoeris, Ranunculus, Thalictrum etc...
