A very rare and local species in the southern part of Belgium.
Native
The larva creates a long and transparant gallery very close to the midrib on the host plant, later it feeds among spun shoots and when becoming mature it eates the unripe seeds. Pupation on the ground.
The adults become active from late afternoon onwards and later comes to light.
The adults fly from mid-July towards late August.
The larvae live on Stellaria graminea and Stellaria holostea.
It occurs in open deciduous forests, rough meadows and dry grasslands and heaths.
