First observation in Belgium in 2009 at Flémalle-Haute (LG). Hitherto a very rare and local species in the country.
Native
The adults are on the wing from July till August.
The larvae live mainly on Saponaria officinalis, also found on Saponaria ocymoides. In old literature is Lychnis vespertina also mentioned.
It inhabits in suitable localities where the food plant occurs and is found in a wide range of habitats.
