Bionomics

The young larva lives in a flower stalk on the host plant, it reacts to the infestation by forming a gall about the size of a rosehip. The larva lives and develop in the hollow stem gall. Later when the larva becomes mature it leaves the gall to pupatein the soil in a white web.
The adults become active around dusk and later come to light in small numbers.
