A very rare and local species in Belgium, hitherto known only from the coastal area.
Native
Early instars starting as leaf miners, later it feeds on young shoots, flowers and/or seed-capsules, which are spun together.
Aduls become active before sunset and later come to light.
The adults have been seen from mid-June towards mid-September.
The larva feeds mainly on Cerastium arvense and Cerastium semidecandrum, also found on other species of Cerastium.
It inhabits sandy coasts and dunes.
