This very rare species is not seen in Belgium for quite some time, probably extinct.

Wingspan 12-16 mm.
The larva lives in a flimsy whitish silken tube.
The adults can easily disturbed by day. They are active at dawn and occasionally at dusk, later they come to light.
Adults are on the wing from May towards late July.
The larva feeds on mosses like Rhytidiadelphus squarrosus.
It inhabits mainly open grasslands.
