A rather rare species throughout Belgium.
This species is considered Endangered according to the IUCN Red List category for Flanders 2023.
Native
It hibernates as a larva and pupates in a cocoon formed in a folded leaf of the food plant.
The adults come to light.
The adults fly in one generation a year from early May till late July.
When conditions are favorable, a partial second generation may occur during August and September.
The larva lives on a wide variety of herbaceous plants including Urtica, Stachys sylvatica, Senecio jacobaea and Lonicera.
