A very rare species so far, but probably more common than we think.
Native
The egg is laid on a twig and the larva mines in a shoot from late summer, overwintering as a small larva.
Pupates within the mine. A small circular hole, usually on the underside is made before pupation.
The adults can be beaten from Norway spruce by day. It flies by night and comes to light.
The adults fly in one generation a year during May and June.
The larva lives in a twig of Picea abies.
