Caterpillar

Head, prothoracic and anal plate black; thoracic legs black; abdome dark reddish brown with dingy yellowish incisions; warts small and blackish (Gregersen & Karsholt 2022).

Bionomics

The larva lives between spun leaves, twigs and flowers on the host plant. Pupation in the larval habitation.
The adults are active from dusk onwards and later come to light.

The adults have been seen from late May towards late August.

The larva lives on Cytisus scoparius, Genista tinctoria, Genista pilosa and Ulex europaeus, the latter recorded in Great Britain.
