This very rare and local species has not been seen in NA for quite some time.

Wingspan: 34–41 mm.
The larvae develop from April to late June. They rest on the host plants even during daytime and are well camouflaged.
The moths occur in September and October.
The larvae are polyphagous on various Asteraceae, also on Apiaceae and Fabaceae.
It inhabits dry and warm grasslands, but also found in open dry woodland.
