Caterpillar

Greyish green; head light brown; prothoracic plate green with a black spot on each side; pinacula black.


Bionomics

The larva lives in a spun shoot or between spun leaves of the foodplant, sometimes gregariously.
Pupation amongst detritus or in the earth.
The adults are active at night and occasionally come to light.

One generation a year from July till September.

Host plant (species):
Angelica sylvestris, Heracleum sphondylium, Peucedanum palustre, Pimpinella saxifraga, Aegodopium podagraria, Pastinaca sativa and Berula erecta

The main foodplant is Angelica sylvestris though the species has been recorded from quite some other species of Apiaceae.
