A very rare and local species in Belgium.
Native
The larva feeds in spun flowers and seeds on the food plant. Pupates in the upper part of the stem of the food plant.
A species which is not easily disturbed from vegetation. They are active in early evening and later come to light.
The adults have been observed from mid-July to late August.
The larva feeds on Eryngium campestre, Daucus, Pastinaca, Angelica, Peucedanum and other members of the Umbelliferae.
It inhabits open areas like rough grasslands, quarries, hillsides.
