A very rare and local species in Belgium, not seen for a while.
Can be confused with Synaphe punctalis.

Wingspan c. 22 mm.
The larva feeds on the lower leaves from a very long white silken tube that reaches down deeply in the soil, between the roots of the host plant, and where it retreats during the day and upon disturbance. Pupation takes place in the silken tube.
The adults are on the wing from July towards September.
The polyphagous larva lives on herbs like Globularia, Epilobium, Helianthemum etc...
