A very rare and local species in Belgium, occurring mainly in the Kempen.
Native
Wingspan 22–24 mm. A distinctive dark-coloured Crambid, with clearly defined white markings. It has a white median forewing streak cut obliquely by a dark line at 2/3-3/4, and a distinct angulate subterminal line. Any other Crambid genus does not show this pattern.
The adults are actuve during late afternoon and later come to light.
The adults are on the wing from late May till August, but mainly during June/July.
The larva feeds on Poaceae.
The species inhabits sandy soils inland, moorland and dunes.
