A rather common species throughout Belgium.
This species is considered Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List category for Flanders 2023.
Native
Hibernates as a pupa in a cocoon in a folded leaf of the food plant. The adults come to light and sugar.
The adults fly in two, sometimes three generations a year from the end of April till early October.
The larva lives on a variety of plants, but especially on Urtica dioica and Humulus lupulus.
