A rather common species throughout Belgium.
This species is considered Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List category for Flanders 2023.
Native
The species hibernates as a pupa in a cocoon between leaves. The adults come to light and sugar.
The adults fly in two generations a year from the end of April till the end of August.
The larva lives on Populus, especially on Populus tremula and on Salix spp.
